Telling him that his account at Coutts & Co. is overdrawn and asking him to "turn over in [his] mind ... how [Dickens] can best put £200 into Coutts's"; suggesting that Mitton loan him the money; saying that he could get "double the sum" from Chapman and Hall, only he has sent them "a most tremendous letter" and told them, "Do this -- Do that -- Do the other -- keep away from me -- and be damned"; complaining that Chapman and Hall have not advertised his book properly; mentioning William Bradbury; noting that the people who have seen his book are "unanimous in their predictions" and "hot in their approval"; expressing his hope that he will be rich by "March or so."
